INSIDE DC WITH DAN DIDIO
Batman: Gotham Knights Online —
Speaking of characters who are a bit away from their core conceit, we've got Batman. Someone on staff pointed out to me that there are already multiple Green Lanterns in the DCU and multiple Flashes. With Dick proving so popular, could we get to the point in the future where even if Bruce came back, there could be two Batmen? There were two Batmen when we had a couple of worlds going at the same time. And that, honestly, is one of the cruxes of the storylines that will be playing out in 2010. Everybody has their opinions on it, and there are going to different ways we're attempting to explore and build the franchise. There's a lot of ground we're ...
Breaking News - Dan Didio Interview
The Aquaman Shrine —
F.O.A.M. member Jeff Baab just sent me a link to an interview on CBR with Dan Didio, and of course the subject of Aquaman comes up: We're talking about Green Lantern, we're talking about Flash, and it's funny, because even five years ago you wouldn't expect to hear the words "Green Lantern" and "major event" together or "Flash" and "anticipated launch." It seems that the care that everyone has put towards these, some would say, "B-List" characters who aren't Superman or Batman, has paid off. Looking forward, I know Geoff has commented on enjoying writing the Aquaman characters in ...
INSIDE DC - DAN DIDIO TALKS ABOUT THE OUTSIDERS!
Batman: Gotham Knights Online —
[image] Yesterday CBR post part one of an exclusive inside DC Comics talk with Executive Editor of the DCU Dan DiDio . Part 2 is up today, with a focus on Dan and Philip Tan taking over the Outsiders. Really insightful , which is making me more and more excited about this title coming up. Jonah Weiland : Two questions on that. When you first read those "Outsiders" issues and loved them, what was it about them? What was happening right then that made this series something that had such an impact on you? DiDio : What was most interesting about that book was that it came along at a time when most team books weren't as ...

Quotes of the Week: Aquaman, Editors, and Snowflakes
Michael May's Adventureblog —
I've never really understood those who say they don't know what to do with Aquaman. It's not just that he can breathe underwater, there's a whole mythos to the character, and powers that may not have been adequately showcased before. --J. Michael Straczynski, scratching his head at Dan Didio and others who claim not to be able to get a handle on Aquaman. (Though I suspect that Didio's comments are more of his usual coy teasing than actual indecisiveness. I'd bet money that DC has very specific plans for Aquaman right now; I'm just not willing to guess what those are or when we'll see ...
Dan DiDio vs. Joe Quesada on "event fatigue"
Robot 6 @ Comic Book Resources - Covering Comic Book News and Entertainment —
Blackest Night #5
Life in the Event Age has been tumultuous for superhero fans. Ever since Infinite Crisis and Civil War cemented a storytelling mode that had begun showing sparks of life during such proto-events as Avengers Disassembled, House of M, Identity Crisis and the ...
