“The graphic novel particularly fits Snyder’s talents and career interests, since she is interested in both writing and drawing”: Here’s a nice little profile on Montana State University studio arts major Jasmine Snyder, “who used comic book illustrations to explain her research that explored and explained the commercialism of the underground culture,” complete with images of Snyder’s very nice art. I’m going to have to dock the article’s writer Carol Schmidt a point for misspelling Spider-Man though; it’s two words, hyphenated and with a capital “M.” Jeez, what do they teach these kids at school these ...

Over on its blog The Source, DC just announced writer James Robinson and artist Mark Bagley will be taking over as the creative team for Justice League of America in October. I think that's good news; I've been enjoying Robinson's work on Superman, and of course he's the author of an amazing run on Starman, so I've got my fingers crossed that he'll be doing something interesting with the JLA. I do feel a little bad for current JLA writer Dwayne McDuffie, though. He just found out he was getting the boot a few weeks ago, and even though he's apparently been less ...

comicbycomic.com 5/29/2009 — I know that someone else wants to blog about the whole ' Dwayne McDuffie off JLA ' thing, but I'm going to do it too - because, frankly, if the guy says he's not enjoying writing the book and the book's not much good then I don't see the point in him staying on. occasionalsuperheroine.blogspot.com 6/5/2009 — link It's DC's right to fire people who think for themselves. People who think for themselves and have opinions can potentially work counter to the Greater Goal. It's far easier to edit writers who are passive, take a lot of bullshit, and are OK ...
