DIY Marvel Mutant: X-Men Fan Creates Wrist-Mounted Flamethrower
MTV's Splashpage — Yeah, so file this one under "Don't Try This At Home," kids. Able to manipulate flame and hurl it around in much the same way Bobby "Iceman" Drake handles the frozen stuff, Pyro made an appearance in both "X2: X-Men United" and "X-Men: The Last Stand," played by Aaron Stanford. In the case of Bradford's real-life "Prometheus Device," however, the wearer is able to generate large bursts of flame from an assembly that wraps around ...

A guy by the name of Everett Bradford has constructed a flame throwing device to mimic Pyro's mutant power. I know, that's crazy right? But it is also reality. . Many thanks to MTV for providing the video! What do you think the next device to be made will be?

Sonia's Linkage: Winter '09 Edition
iFanboy — by Sonia Harris It's winter, and despite living in "sunny" California, it's actually pretty bloody cold and damp in San Francisco. This means that two things have happened. 1) I've had a couple of really nasty colds (or really mild flu, depending on which doctor I ask), and 2) I've been staying in a lot more, where it's warm and cosy. The upshot of all of this hibernating behavior is that I've been looking at more fun stuff online, and since it's nearly six months since I last posted some links for you, I thought you might like some more.
