Disney to release Ponyo - a Japanese animated film
The Daily Cartoonist — The Movie Blog writes that Disney will be releasing a Japanese animated film in America. The film did well in Japan grossing $150 million. The plot is similar to The Little Mermaid wherein a little a little “girl-fish” wants to be human and explore life out of the underworld but the story is also based on Japanese forklore. The American version will feature the voice talent of Noah Cyrus, Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon, Tina Fey, Liam Neeson Betty White and opens August 14. You can see “>the Japanese trailer below.
